DESCRIPTION:
The Claas Commandor 116CS combine harvester features a six-metre cutting width and is powered by a robust 276-hp eight-cylinder engine. The front track width measures 2.75 metres, expanding to 2.90 metres at the rear for enhanced stability. The driver’s platform includes a comfortable cab with an all-round view, fan and filter, as well as compressor-based air-conditioning and heating for optimal operator comfort. The original model’s grain tank reaches a height of 3.80 metres, while the self-propelled machine measures 7.70 metres in length without the cutter trailer and weighs 11.75 tonnes.
The Commandor series introduced significant technical advancements, notably replacing the traditional shaker with a cylinder system (CS) consisting of eight separation cylinders behind a 1.58-metre threshing drum. This system maximises grain separation from the straw, which is then directed towards the straw hood. Adjustable separation concaves and cylinder rotation speed allow adaptation to different crops. In 1986, the CS models were rebranded as Commandor, and in 1990, the Claas Commandor set a world harvest record by harvesting 358 tonnes of wheat in eight hours. Production of CS system combine harvesters continued until 1995.
The WIKING 1:32 precision model includes detailed features such as forager headers and a cutting unit transport trolley. The wheels rotate smoothly, and the steerable rear wheels enhance manoeuvrability. The cab mirrors can be folded in and out, and the attached ladder rotates for easy access. The height of the cutting unit attachment is adjustable, replicating field operation. The grain tank opens to reveal a moveable screw conveyor that extends upwards, while the discharge pipe swivels for realistic unloading. The rear crop storage area can be set in three positions. The cutting unit reel rotates with individual tines and can be detached for transport. The transport trolley is designed for easy movement of the cutting unit and attaches securely to the Commandor model.
